I want dental implants. Is a CBCT scan mandatory?
Getting a CBCT scan isn’t absolutely necessary, but it’s highly recommended if you’re getting dental implants. The more information we have about your mouth and jaw, the more likely it is that you’ll be getting a beautiful set of worry-free implants that you can enjoy for decades.
Are CBCT scans safe?
Like a lot of medical scans, CBCT scans do involve radiation. Having said that, the amount of radiation in CBCT scans is much lower than in other medical CT scans – in some cases it’s as much as 10 times lower. Your health is always our top priority, so you can rest assured that we take every precaution to make sure that your CBCT scan is both safe and effective.
What’s the difference between a CT scan and CBCT scan?
While traditional CT scans and CBCT scans both create a 3D image, CBCT scans generate much less radiation and can be completed more quickly — the whole process just takes a few minutes.
